The duality of existence, captured in form.
Hilma af Klint’s The Swan, No. 12 (from the Group IX/SUW series, 1915) is more than an abstract study of a bird; it is a profound exploration of transcendence. As the swan transforms through her signature geometric evolution, the painting becomes a visual narrative of change, growth, and the harmony between opposing forces.
This piece stands out for its bold, graphic clarity. Its stark contrast and rhythmic composition make it a timeless choice for any space that seeks to blend intellectual depth with visual elegance. It is not just art; it is a meditation on the beauty of transformation.
Why this belongs on your wall:
For the Design-Forward Home: With its striking black-and-white motif, The Swan, No. 12 fits perfectly into modern, monochromatic, or Scandinavian-inspired interiors. It is the definitive "statement piece" for a refined eye.
A Symbol of Evolution: This is the perfect artwork for anyone celebrating a life change, a new professional chapter, or a journey of personal growth. It carries a narrative that is both personal and universal.
The "Museum Look": Printed using premium archival-grade ink on heavy-weight, gallery-quality paper. We ensure that the deep blacks and the stark whites are rendered with absolute clarity, bringing the precision of af Klint's vision to your wall.
Don’t just decorate. Tell a story of transformation.
About the Artwork
The Swan, No. 12 is part of Hilma af Klint’s ambitious The Swan series, created in 1915. For af Klint, the swan was a powerful spiritual symbol representing the union of male and female, material and spiritual.
In this work, the bird gradually morphs from a representational figure into a series of abstract shapes—a process that captures her revolutionary approach to abstraction. Long hidden from the public eye, these works have now been embraced by the global art community, solidifying Hilma af Klint’s position as a legendary pioneer who saw beyond the physical world long before anyone else.
